Hello world. We’re here.

Around 10 minutes after the servers came up- Mongbat was finally created in the LIVE GAME, culminating a 2+ year countdown filled with anticipation, trepidation and a whole crap-ton of very slowly released info about the game.

The launch wasn’t as perfectly smooth as I dreamed about when hugging my pillow the night (day?) before launch, but I dare still say it went awesome.

Mongbat had over 20 members standing on the stairs in Altdorf when the guild creation button was finally pressed for the last time, and I would just like to thank all the members who have contributed over the passed few years to this idea that is Mongbat… thank you.

We’ve rolled on what is shaping up to be a great server, with some healthy competition on both the sides of Order and Destruction.

We hope to see you all in game soon-

and remember…

Keep it fun you f*ckers.

Hi folks,

As an announcement to all interested, Mongbat will be closing recruitment on September 12, 2008. We have reached a population that we feel will provide us with an around-the-clock presence in-game. Rather than keep building on this with open applications, we’ve decided to close our doors.

Mongbat will no longer be accepting applications for membership as of the aforementioned date. Those who are currently regular forum members and have not yet applied may still submit their applications under our recently-updated guidelines. We feel, as a whole, that if we were to keep up recruitment at its current pace our community as it exists would suffer and that’s not a risk we’re willing to take.

Cheers and we’ll see you on the battlefield.

We would like to extend a welcome to our newest alliance partner, Iroas! Over the past month there has been a lot of positive interaction and feedback between the members of Mongbat and the folks at Iroas. As a result, they have agreed to come on board as members of Paradigm. We would like to encourage all members of Mongbat to take the time to get acquainted with our new allies if you haven’t had a chance to already.

Along those same lines, we have added a set of alliance guidelines on our Paradigm Alliance page which outline what is expected from all allied guilds, as well as a permanent link to theĀ Iroas website.

Welcome aboard, folks!

Please take notice:
We have changed our current recruitment policies.

We are changing to an “In-Game” recruitment process, which means that to get into Mongbat, you must already be in the Closed Beta, wait until Open Beta, or wait until the game goes live.

If you are already a member of the forums at the time of this announcement, you can still apply and be accepted through our former process. However, anyone new to the forums must group with us in game to be considered for acceptance into the guild.

The process for this will be detailed in our “Recruitment” section on the main page, as well as the “application” section of our forums.

Thank you.

Howdy, folks! The June Newsletter has hit the shelves and our Fairfax shenanigans have been featured in the Video of the Month section. We expected them to get a kick out of it when we did it…but we didn’t expect this. Big thanks to Justin for all his work on this and to all the other folks that didn’t stab us for trying something cheeky.

Anyway, go check it out for yourselves. I guarantee you that you’ve never found Josh Drescher quite so disturbing.

In a bold preemptive strike, the Mongbat guild has laid siege to the keep at Fairfax- previously controlled by EA-Mythic. Since we’ve all been eagerly awaiting WAR for a couple years now, we decided to have a little fun.

On May 12, 2008, Mongbat concluded the final stage of a three week long project to show the guys (and Angie) over at EA-Mythic how much we appreciate all they’re doing for the gaming community. Our guild is made up of people from all over the world, and as such people from all over the world played part in this awesome undertaking which we honestly can’t stop smiling about.

After making the trip from Pennsylvania to Virginia, RangerLee walked into the office of EA-Mythic and planted a makeshift guild standard in their lobby, along with a bag of loot for the developers, therefore claiming the ‘keep’ as our own. Attached to the standard was a scroll which contained the following message, written by Tober (Australia);

NOTICE OF CAPTURE

Here are some pictures of the entire process, starting out late April.

RangerLee couldn’t stay since he didn’t have an appointment, but who makes an appointment for a siege? Regardless, the deed has been done and everything went according to plan.
The reception from those at EA-Mythic has been very positive, with many there showing their thanks as well as a recent reply on our forums by Jeff Hickman himself:

“Guys,

I just wanted to pop on and say congratulations on the raid into our building. I was in my office when it occurred, and even though the uber guards at our front desk (Amy) wouldn’t let you all the way in, your banner indeed got planted right outside my office door. It has been there ever since, a glowing reminder of your commitment to the game and eagerness to play.

The Notice of Capture is tacked to the banner for all to read. I will try to get a picture up somewhere so you can all see it.

-Jeff

p.s. The badass stein is mine! All MINE! You might see ME drinking out of it in a podcast, but not Paul”

We would like to thank not only the members named above, but all the members of the Mongbat Guild, and especially those who helped support this project with their ideas and financing. And of course, one last thanks to the folks at EA-Mythic, who are making the little world for us all to play in (kind of like Bob Ross without the weed).
